Woo hoo! We have made it to 2017! I am here for it as I have so many goals that I am going to be accomplishing with this Fresh Year. So let’s chat about having A Fresh Start, you don’t need a New Year to happen in order to start anew. The #1 thing that you need to do in order to have one is to……
Decide When You Want to Start
In life we actually have multiple fresh starts… a new home, relationship, career, it happens all the time. Ultimately a fresh start happens when you decide you want things to be different and you begin to implement changes in your life that reflect what you want.
Of course, it’s nice to get clear after the holidays and if you are working in any capacity your business and/or company are most likely doing reviews and balancing inventory etc to close out the year so it seems natural that you should re-evaluate your life and start planning for what’s to come.
If you are a business type person you may even plan your goals based on quarters.
Whenever you decide to start fresh here are some things to consider.
Reflect on what you loved in the in past, keep that for the future and eliminate what you don’t want.
Relationships… relationships…relationships if there are people in your life that are not encouraging you to be a better you then you need to let them go. Surrounding yourself with supportive people is a must in order to achieve your goals and maintain them.
Set a goal and schedule check-in points – look it’s nice to have a goal but if you don’t have the action plan behind how you’re going to achieve them then they have no value. Put your check in points on your calendar, share it with a support person in your life so they can help hold you accountable.
Be realistic and clear on what you want. The better those two are the easier you can set up actions to get you to where you want to be.
Here is what I am doing to have a Fresh Start. The first step for me is to redo my vision board, then I will break down my goals into actionable steps with a scheduled calendar check in points.
What are some of your goals?
