We are chatting about Smashbox Studio Skin!
Smashbox Studio Skin foundation comes in 12 shades (7 for people of color)
This a long-wearing foundation (a favorite quality) and it applies easily, I usually do about 2 pumps.
Yes! it does come with a pump because at a $42 price tag you don’t want to waste one drop.
Throughout the day when I am running around on the retail floor this stays in place. I don’t have to worry about it being half way off my face mid day and I know it does last at least 9 hours as that’s usually the amount of time I am putting into my work day. (Note: I do not retouch my makeup throughout the day)
The shade 3.3 has a yellow base and blends great into the skin. The coverage is medium to full, I tend to wear more of a medium coverage, the finish is natural. On the bottle, it does say hydrating which you would assume to mean that the foundation would give a glow. It does not for me, which I am not complaining. I want my skin to look like skin when wearing makeup.
Usually, I apply this foundation with a brush from Real Techniques and sometimes a Beauty Blender. Regardless of what tool you choose to apply you should still get the coverage you want.
Since I purchased my bottle Smashbox has changed the names of the foundations (numerical values) and 3.3 is no longer in its shade range the next available color is 3.35. I am hoping that it’s just a value change and not a color change. As a black woman, it is already hard enough to find shades that have the right undertones.
Because I really enjoy this foundation I have ordered the new color so that I can see if there are any differences and if I am going to have to reach out to Smashbox.
Make sure you check back for the update…
Regardless! this is definitely one of my favorite foundations that I think is worth a purchase!
Based on my experience with this product I want to try some other Smashbox products.
Coverage: Medium to Full, buildable
